AbstractIn this contribution various possibilities of Online-Participation within Non profit organisations, as well as the idea of Liquid Democracy, are being introduced. Regardless of the place of use, the OpenSource-Programmes introduced in this contribution can help to optimise decision- and organisation-processes and adapt them to the digital age. All participants can be incorporated in these processes. Especially in a working sphere with predominantly honorary capacity, the cooperation, creativity and also responsibility of every single participant can be promoted and strengthened. By using these permeable, ‚liquid‘ tools, additional synergetic effects, which would couldn’t be seen in traditional organisation-processes, can become evident. The organisations themselves, on the other hand, profit from more efficient and therefore cheaper structures and motivated, content (honorary) members who experience themselves as a part of the whole. The paper will illustrate this on the basis of a conventional course of project, while introducing various web-based tools for participation. Potential causes of risk and challenges will be considered, to illustrate the path to a culture of participation with flat hierarchies in Non Profit Organisations, as barrier-free as possible.
