Zusammenfassung

At present classical factory simulations are conducted only when serious changes occur, for example prior to the beginning of construction, prior to larger investments or with the start-up of new products. Only in very rare cases, minor changes in reality will be updated in real-time in the digital model. Thus the simulation model soon loses validity. The effort and hence the hurdle to use the simulation model grows. As its name suggests, the factory cockpit is used for object-oriented monitoring of current operational factory conditions. Each actual resource has its digital factory cockpit representative indicating the current conditions and enabling the supervision with traffic light logic. When there are challenges identified, short-term simulation runs, based on the current status quo of the factory, can be used to solve operative questions. Thus the worker in the operational workshop gets actively interested in updating even minor changes in real-time. The factory model will always have a high quality and the effort for simulation studies decreases dramatically: Enormous optimization and saving potentials can be realized.
