Zusammenfassung

Occupational Safety and Health (OSAH) is an important aspect of corporate social responsibility (CSR). In addition global business companies are faced with a growing number of regulations and legislations on the subject of Occupational Safety and Health. Hereby compliance is a necessity for business companies. Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS) can be regarded as an instrument to achieve compliance and CSR-objectives relevant to Occupational Safety and Health efficiently. Centralized OSAH-Management on corporate level needs transparent and appropriate information from each operation within the organization. Because of varying laws, regulations, locations of facilities and other variables, a structured representation of information relevant to Occupational Safety and Health is necessary. Therefore this paper discusses suitable knowledge-management methods and techniques. This survey is written in cooperation with Volkswagen Group as Europe‟s largest automobile manufacturer. After structuring German OSAH-regulations and -legislations, a semantic network-based representation will be discussed. Hereby topic maps will be introduced as a standardized form of semantic networks. Furthermore the documentation of Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems will be explained. To ensure corporate compliance, represented regulations will be referenced with processes and documents of OSHMS. Hereby scope-elements will be used to distinguish between several operations. As result, efficient information access and exploration of OSAH-information is possible on corporate level. Finally a topic map-based prototypical implementation will be revealed for demonstration purposes.
