Zusammenfassung

The Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) was built in Armenia in 1975. The Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Government of the Republic of Armenia (ANRA) controlled its operation. Together with the organization WS Atkins Environment (UK) and the Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (CENS) the ANRA carried out a project on the creation of the GIS model of distribution of radioactive pollution in case of emergency in NPP in relation to complicated relief of Armenia and movement of aerial masses and streams. All the work was done using software ArcView GIS 3.2. We created many layers for 50km zone of NPP. The analyzing of these data is important for avoiding exploitation and for the planning of a national response to emergencies in Metsamor NPP.
