Zusammenfassung
An advanced Web upload system based on XML Schema has been developed for the establishment of a Draft and Final Register for the Intercalibration Network. The registers contain data for surface water sites. Each specific data file includes information of the surface water category, (whether the site was a lake, river of a coastal or transitional water site), which ecoregions or geographical intercalibration group, and which common intercalibration type the site is representative for. The datafiles are written in XML to ensure readability in the future. The XML schema is used to generate the web pages that interface the user with the XML file-manipulating tools. After the creation and editing of the XML pages, the XML schema is applied to validate the submitted data files.
