The relationship between environmental informatics and environmetrics/chemometrics is evident as all disciplines want to give a deeper insight into environmental topics (in case of chemometrics into environmental chemical topics). According to the author a strong interaction exists in many fields, like environmental databases and information systems. Databases without their use and evaluation are only data cemeteries. For an effective use of environmental information the data-analysis is of utmost importance. In this paper the mathematical and statistical evaluation of the contents of 12 databases is demonstrated. Environmental chemicals are taken as an example.de
