Software is presented integrating a two-dimensional glacier simulation model into an interactive three-dimensional visualisation. This tool allows a range of different users, including specialists and non-specialists, to understand a physically-based glacier model in three dimensions. The special visualisation technique helps to communicate the influence of climate change and its impact on the environment closer to reality and therefore better to the society. The used glacier model simulates the glacier reaction to predefined climate scenarios by application of steady state conditions for typical glacier response times. Screenshots of simulated three-dimensional states of the Morteratsch glacier in Eastern Switzerland are shown.de
