dc.description.abstract | The Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape (SAEFL) provides environmental information to the public and to decision-makers, both as clients and through partnerships. Although the available information clearly indicates the areas facing important environmental problems, limitations of data availability and comparability, non-systematic use of indicators, and lower environmental awareness pose difficulties in sharing environmental information. The Project “Swiss Environmental Reporting” aims to streamline environmental reporting for communication purposes. It introduces a new approach in sharing environmental information with target groups. Environmental information systems are strengthened to reach the key clients and the general public. Specific products are properly disseminated to target groups through the most appropriate information channels. This paper presents the main results of the project. Products, to be developed by SAEFL in the future that should improve the sharing of environmental information between citizens and public administrations are reviewed. | de |
