- KonferenzbeitragA data mining process for building recommendation systems for agricultural machines based on big data(42. GIL-Jahrestagung, Künstliche Intelligenz in der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft, 2022) Altaleb, Mohamed; Deeken, Henning; Hertzberg, JoachimThere is a potential expansion in the agricultural machinery industry by using the collected data from different years. Big data is already being used in other industries like e-commerce to improve decision-making processes. There are several existing process models to lead through the generic processes of data mining. The common factor between the process models that have attained dominant public position is that they are domain-agnostic frameworks. This paper proposes a method to extend the CRoss-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) to focus on the agricultural domain and give guidelines on how to handle and structure the agricultural data and processes to reach defined data mining goals. The paper provides a walk-through for a use case to build a recommendation system.
- ZeitschriftenartikelElectronic Meeting Systems Paradox(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 45, No. 4, 2003) Klein, Arnd; Krcmar, HelmutAlthough research has shown that electronic meeting systems (EMS) can improve meetings substantially, EMS are less prominent in organizations than the scientific community originally envisioned. The authors discuss this paradox on the basis of an extensive literature review. They derive success factors for EMS implementation from IS research and develop an implementation model for EMS on the basis of diffusion theory.
- TextdokumentEnabling SMEs to comply with the complex new EU data protection regulation(Open Identity Summit 2019, 2019) Fähnrich, Nicolas; Kubach, MichaelThe European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introduces privacy requirements that pose a complex challenge especially for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). In this paper, we present a software-supported process model developed by us that helps SMEs to establish processes ensuring the rights of the data subjects and prepare the documentation that is necessary to comply with the GDPR. Three small case studies illustrate the work with the process model and lessons learned from these practical applications of our tool give further insights into the topic.
- KonferenzbeitragTowards Maintainable Resilient Production SystemsHansert, Jonas; Koch, Sandro; Wunderlich, Tim; Ihlenfeldt, Steffen; Schlegel, ThomasPredictable and unpredictable errors both pose threats to production systems and need to be addressed to avoid standstills, damages or even injuries. For this reason, we derive requirements for the structure of resilient production systems and propose an architecture to address these requirements. A decoupled interaction schema allows to reconfigure the compilation of the production system’s electrical and mechanical parts. The collaboration between its services enables the production system to automatically propose mitigation strategies in case of an unforeseen error. This is achieved by monitoring the process execution and extending the process models as well as the workflow engine to allow for dynamically addressing the executing components.
