Zusammenfassung

Active testing is a rapid way to run and analyse usability tests and build stakeholder engagement. It combines user testing with customer engaged analysis workshops. A specialist usability moderator runs the session with the participant. Full HD cameras and screen capture record the sessions. A second moderator and the client core team observe sessions in real time in our observation room. The observers carry out real time analysis jointly. For this purpose we have developed a structured process for capturing insights and conducting real time analysis on the data. Reports come in the form of screen print outs with annotations done with post-its. Active testing allows more frequent testing throughout the development process by reducing the costs and timescales of each test and maximising the benefits to the design. The International UX Partners – a network of 18 companies doing UX fieldwork in 45 countries (e.g. UID in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Amable in Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Amber-light in the UK, ISAR UID in China) have vast experience in applying this methodical approach to usability evaluation to agile or lean UX working environments on an international scale. We would like to share these experiences as best practices with the UUX community in Germany.
