The software process is important for learning in software engineering. Experience from earlier projects is transferred to later projects through the process. This type of experience is important for all practitioners, but work with software process improvement (SPI) is in many cases only carried out by management. We report from an interview study where practitioners have been interviewed about their expectations on the software process. It is found that it would be possible to construct concrete guidelines for more practitioners and that it would be favourable to involve developers in SPI work.en
