(17th Workshop on Adaptivity and User Modeling in Interactive Systems, 2009) Hartmann, Melanie
As user interfaces become more and more complex and feature laden, usability tends to decrease. One possibility to counter this effect are intelligent user interfaces (IUIs) that support the user’s interactions. In this paper, we give an overview of design challenges identied in literature that have to be faced when developing useradaptive IUIs and possible solutions. Thereby, we place special emphasis on design principles for successful adaptivity.
