- KonferenzbeitragGood-Practice-Examples and Indicators: Internet-based solutions for the Sustainable Management(Sh@ring – EnviroInfo 2004, 2004) Braun, Rudolph; Russ, Markus; Schulz, Werner F.; Krcmar, Helmut; Kreeb, MartinThere is a big need for environmental or sustainable management tools which support the sustainable or environmental management staff in doing their work. The concept, onesus, is a tool platform embedded in the project Ecoradar.com. EPE (management of environmental indicators and benchmarking) and the gp-Finder (finding Good-Practice-Examples) are prototypes of tools which will be integrated in this tool platform.

- KonferenzbeitragWeb-based Tools for the Environmental Performance Indicator(Environmental Communication in the Information Society - Proceedings of the 16th Conference, 2002) Braun, Rudolph; Russ, Markus; Krcmar, H.The software landscape in environmental management is determined by individual, nonintegrated solutions. This can lead to incompatabilities and thus to a reduced system efficiency. A strategic reorientation of software deployment within the area of environmental management requires the definition of a system platform, that provides an integrated system infrastructure based on software components. The objective of this article is to describe such a component system, with which slim web-based applications or tools for environmental management can be developed. An important step to achieve this objective is to find and define suitable objects for environmental management. These Ecological Objects (EcOObjects) have to be implemented as an open standard. A first prototype of a tool which is based on EcOObjects that represents aspects of an environmental performance indicator system presented here.
