- ZeitschriftenartikelInternetressourcen zu IT/Business Alignment(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 48, No. 5, 2006) Gericke, Anke; Stutz, MatthiasIT/Business Alignment IT/Business Alignment has become a key issue for many companies. Therefore a lot of companies, institutions and universities have published documents about this topic. This paper is intended to give an overview of these resources found in the Internet.
AbstractThe development of models and methods is a vital element of design science in information systems research. In this paper a formal process modeling language is developed which incorporates IEB (Integrated Enterprise Balancing)/4R (Risk, Return, Regulation, Reporting) requirements formulated by Faisst and Buhl [FaBu05]. This is realized through the inclusion of 4R elements and 4R relations into the new 4R process modeling language. An evaluation of the process modeling language with regard to the assessment criterion “feasibility of implementation” was successfully executed using the meta modeling platform ADONIS. For that purpose the ADONIS modeling language for business processes (ADONIS BPMS) was extended with additional 4R modeling elements. Furthermore a new model type as well as required classes and relation classes have been developed which enable the connection of the 4R process modeling language to the research results of the above mentioned contribution.
- KonferenzbeitragSituational change engineering in healthcare(European Conference on eHealth 2006, 2006) Gericke, Anke; Winter, RobertMany developed countries are confronted with continuously increasing healthcare costs. Most administrations believe that a fundamental reorganization of the healthcare sector is inevitable. Transformation processes are often enabled by information and communication technologies. For healthcare, a plethora of eHealth strategies have been proposed, many of them being aimed at reducing healthcare costs by optimizing administrative processes. Although lots of strategies have been proposed, there is a lack of clear guideline for setting up transformation projects successfully. Since many healthcare systems are characterized by a high degree auf autonomy and many local regulations, a situational approach for setting up transformation projects is necessary. In change management as well as in method engineering, situational approaches have been proposed. But there are few publications on how to combine situational change management with situational method engineering. Regarding applying such an approach to healthcare, there is no work at all. Therefore the aim of this paper is to propose a `situational change engineering' framework for the healthcare sector. Three steps are essential: (1) to classify change projects in the healthcare sector with regard to certain transformation attributes, (2) to identify reusable method fragments that have been deployed in change projects of a certain type, and (3) to develop a procedure which creates a situational method from appropriate method fragments for the respective type of change. In addition to outlining this approach, a hypothesis for the first step is presented, i.e. a scheme is developed to classify change projects in the healthcare sector. The paper ends with a recommendation for implementing the `situational change engineering' framework in the healthcare sector.
- ZeitschriftenartikelTeradata University Network — Ein Portal zur Unterstützung der Lehre in den Bereichen Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing und Datenbanken(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 48, No. 4, 2006) Winter, Robert; Gericke, AnkeKernpunkteDie gestiegene Bedeutung von Business Intelligence und Informationslogistik für den Geschäftserfolg von Unternehmen erfordert eine zeitgemäße, realitätsnahe Ausbildung von Studierenden. Dieser Beitrag präsentiert das Teradata University Network (TUN) — eine Plattform, die Lehrende bei der praxisnahen Ausbildung in diesen Bereichen unterstützt.TUN wird von Wissenschaftlern und Unternehmen gemeinsam betrieben um eine praxisnahe Ausbildung der Studierenden in den Bereichen Business Intelligence (BI) und Informationslogistik zu unterstützen.TUN unterstützt die Erstellung von Präsenz-und Selbststudiumsangeboten u. a. durch Bereitstellung von Lehrplänen, Artikeln, Softwareübungen und Fallstudien.TUN ermöglicht den kostenfreien Zugriff auf kommerzielle BI-, Data Warehousing-und Datenbank-Software (ASP-Modell).AbstractBusiness intelligence and information logistics have become a part of teaching curricula in recent years due to their importance for companies and the request for adequately trained graduates. Since these fields are characterized by a high amount of software and methodology innovations, teaching materials and teaching aids require constant attention. Teradata, a division of NCR Corp., has teamed up with lecturers and researchers to build and run a portal to support teaching business intelligence and information logistics. This article describes how faculty can use the Teradata University Network to prepare and run courses by reusing teaching materials and running state-of-the-art, commercial software provided in an ASP model.
