- KonferenzbeitragExploration of medical volume data in projective augmented reality: an interactive demonstration(Mensch und Computer 2020 - Tagungsband, 2020) Bornemann, Kai; Heinrich, Florian; Lawonn, Kai; Hansen, ChristianThis article describes the implementation and usage of a prototype to explore medical volume data in a projective augmented reality (AR). To allow real-time rendering of the data, a volume ray casting algorithm is implemented on the GPU. Furthermore, the volume data is distorted in such a way that it is superimposed correctly from the user's perspective. To allow exploration of the dataset the user can use an HTC Vive Controller to show or hide structures with either clipping or windowing. In the future, the proposed prototype might be used for diagnosis, planning and computer assisted surgery. First tests indicate that this setup increases spatial understanding of the volume data compared to conventional computer monitors.
- WorkshopbeitragWorkshop on Virtual and Augmented Reality in Everyday Context (VARECo)(Mensch und Computer 2020 - Workshopband, 2020) Weyers, Benjamin; Zielasko, Daniel; Heinrich, Florian; Kulik, AlexanderThe workshop is planned to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the investigation of open questions in the use of VR and AR technology in everyday context. The workshop aims at the presentation, discussion, and identification of current results and research questions in this context. The workshop is comprised of a paper session for the presentation of current and ongoing work as well as an interactive session, in which open research questions in the addressed context will be identified and discussed.
