- TextdokumentKnowledge-Based Self-Organization of Traffic Control Systems(INFORMATIK 2017, 2017) Jurisch, Matthias; Igler, BodoTraffic control systems operating at the level of intersections can interact with each other. This interaction can be implicit (traffic flow) and explicit (exchange of sensor data). A central issue in this context is how to react to structural changes in a system of traffic control systems. This paper proposes to model all aspects which are relevant to the connection of these systems as ontologies. It further proposes to adapt to structural changes by taking inferences drawn from these ontologies into account. This work in progress is presented with the help of a concrete application example. A software prototype has been developed to demonstrate that this approach is technically feasible.
- TextdokumentModelling of Interaction in Interweaving Systems as Ontology Mapping Adaption(INFORMATIK 2020, 2021) Jurisch, Matthias; Igler, BodoInterweaving Systems (IWS) are systems that have not been designed to cooperate, but can influence each other at runtine through a shared environment. In this paper, we present a general approach that enables IWS to gain an explicit view of the shared environment. The approach is based on ontology alignment and model driven techniques. The core idea is to build a Directory Ontology that shows what systems can know about their environment, and local Connector Ontologies that organize information routing between systems and connect these via ontology alignments. Changes are addressed using ontology mapping adaption. This approach is presented using an application example from the area of traffic control systems. The key benefit of the approach is that it allows supporting and sustaining data integration in Interweaving Systems using explicit and domain-independent rules.
