    From playful bricks to social robots - Investigating emotional perceptions of self-built robots

    This paper investigates the use of LEGOs and a Circumplex model of core affect with product relevant emotions to study the design and emotional perceptions of social robots, in two creative workshops. The first workshop (n=4) involved building futuristic social robot concepts with LEGOs, and the second workshop (n=8) extended this by including tasks on mapping emotions associated with the robot concepts. By employing these tools, the study explores the relationship between design, emotions, and user experience, to assess the workshop agenda and tools for future studies.

    Quadrupedal Robot Dog as an Attraction in a Local Outdoor Event for Live Streaming and Engagement

    dog to live stream a local outdoor event and how it was received by the public. In this impromptu exploratory work, we discuss the technical set-up, as well as the novelty factor, when interacting with robots in public. We share insights on people reacting to the robot mostly positively and what kind of role robots could play in the future in order to engage people at organized events. In the future, we would like to explore robots in other public settings and contexts, such as hybrid events.
