- KonferenzbeitragCASCADE(Environmental Communication in the Information Society - Proceedings of the 16th Conference, 2002) Cappellaro, Francesca; Masoni, Paolo; Moreno, Anna; Scalbi, SimonaOne of the objectives of the CASCADE (Cooperation and Standards Assessment Data in Europe) project is to establish the necessary standards for LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) data in order to create the model for a reference database, to test it and to develop a repository for terminology. A collaborative work between research, government and industrial organisations will develop the model of the database and the procedure for implementing it. The data base model will be tested with some trial population and useful suggestion will be taken for further development. Besides, training tools and software demo will be developed for enlarge the number of the users and at last, in the order to gather more interest, software demo will be developed and some of the software will have a commercial use after the end of the project.
- KonferenzbeitragDatabases and Web Site to Support the Diffusion of Integrated Product Policy in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises(Environmental Communication in the Information Society - Proceedings of the 16th Conference, 2002) Buonamici, Roberto; Buttol, Patrizia; Masoni, Paolo; Misceo, Monica; Naldesi, Luciano; Rinaldi, Caterina; Sára, Balázs; Taraborelli, FrancescoTo be effective and recognised by consumers Integrated Product Policy, IPP, the new policy approach of the European Union on sustainable goods and services, should be applied to a very large number of products. The acceptance of IPP by Small and Medium sized Enterprises, SMEs, is therefore a crucial issue for the entire policy. The eLCA Project has the general objective to realise “Databases and Web site for the adoption of Integrated Product Policy by SMEs”. eLCA preparatory action has demonstrated Public Sector Information relevance, Information and Communication Technologies and Web site potential for IPP in SMEs, by tackling their specific barriers and promoting a gradual development of a green services market.
- KonferenzbeitragE-learning courses for innovating products and reducing environmental impact(Environmental Informatics and Industrial Environmental Protection: Concepts, Methods and Tools, 2009) Cappellaro, Francesca; Masoni, Paolo; Moreno, Anna; Amato, Anna; Bala, Alba; Fullana, PereA large part of environmental impacts is caused by consumer’s products throughout their life-cycle, from extraction to production, transportation, consumption and final disposal. Good product information is the backbone needed for a real global market for products manufactured in the framework of sustainability. The DEPUIS project (Design of Environmental-friendly Products Using Information Standards) aims to promote the use of existing standards in order to adopt the life-cycle thinking in design and manufacture of products. The e-learning method used in the DEPUIS Project aims to introduce the new technology of data representation by standardised information models Product Data Technologyand to show how the use of these models can support data on environmental impacts, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Ecodesign.
