- KonferenzbeitragAdvanced control system for municipal wastewater treatment plant(EnviroInfo Dessau 2012, Part 1: Core Application Areas, 2012) Stachura, Marcin; Janiszowski, KrzysztofIn this paper a proposal of a predictive control of a wastewater treatment plant was presented. Proposed multilayer control structure is composed of direct access PID controllers and supervisory DMC (Dynamic Matrix Controller) predictive controller. Basic idea of applied multilayer control structure was to use DMC controller to predict and compensate present and future measurable disturbances (flow and load of a crude sewage). Validation of presented approach was performed with use of computer simulations with different disturbance scenarios. The research was based on data obtained from a wastewater treatment plant in Resovia.
- KonferenzbeitragModel based leakage isolation in water distribution system: a neural classifier approach(EnviroInfo & ICT4S, Adjunct Proceedings, 2015) Stachura, Marcin; Studzinski, Jan; Fajdek, BartomiejThe paper presents an approach to detect and isolate leakages in water distribution networks. The first step of the methodology is the definition of the most sensitive nodes of the water distribution network that could be chosen as the places of pressure measurement points. Next, the numerical calculations of the hydraulic model for the purpose of determining the pressure variations for the standard, and during a leakage, operation of the water network were performed. At last neural classifiers were estimated so as to isolate the place of a leakage.
- KonferenzbeitragPartial Optimization of Water Distribution System Accounting for Multiobjective System Safety(Advances and New Trends in Environmental Informatics - Stability, Continuity, Innovation, 2016) Stachura, Marcin
- KonferenzbeitragPlanning of a water distribution network sensors location for a leakage isolation(Proceedings of the 28th Conference on Environmental Informatics - Informatics for Environmental Protection, Sustainable Development and Risk Management, 2014) Stachura, Marcin; Bartlomiej, FajdekThe paper presents a method of water distribution system sensors placement. Location of sensors depends on the purpose of monitoring of a network. In this paper, this objective has been defined as the ability to detect network failures (leakages). Therefore, the location of monitoring points should be designed so as to maximize the effectiveness of the location method. The main objective of the algorithm deployment of sensors is to find a placement that minimizes the number of components for the largest collection of leakages (faults) with the same signature. The simplest way of determining the best sensors placement is to use an exhaustive search method. However, even a slight increase in the number of possible sensors locations makes exhaustive search very inefficient. Therefore, the selection of sensors placement was performed by optimization using evolutionary genetic algorithm. The computations were performed on the example of the water supply network in Glubczyce town in Poland.
- KonferenzbeitragValidation and Model Optimization for Waste Water Treatment Processes(Environmental Informatics and Industrial Ecology, 2008) Stachura, Marcin; Janiszowki, KrzysztofIn paper some procedures for calibration and optimization of waste water treatment plants models, based on model called ASM 1 were described and discussed. In performed studies data recorded in a plant in Resovia (south – eastern Poland) was taken into consideration. Calibration of a process was considered as a manual adaptation of the ASM 1 model to information obtained from investigated object, while optimization was an automatic investigation with use of computational optimization algorithms. In conclusions advantages and disadvantages of applied procedures were described.
