- KonferenzbeitragContext-aware services composition based on AI planning(INFORMATIK 2006 – Informatik für Menschen – Band 2, Beiträge der 36. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI), 2006) Qiu, Lirong; Shi, ZhongzhiAI planning technologies has proven to be useful for services composition. By treating service as an action, planners do various sorts of reasoning about how to combine services into a plan. However, planners typically support only limited reasoning capabilities which cannot handle the enormous size of the data involved in the planning process over Web. In parallel, the field of context-aware computing has been focusing on providing information that can be used to characterize the situation of an entity, and thereby using context can filter the inappropriate candidate services and adapt to user's preference. The major technical contributions of this paper are: (1) We propose an OWL-SC model for the context-aware composition of Web services.$(2)$ We propose contextaware plan architecture and thus is more scalability and flexibility for the planning process, and thereby improving the efficiency and precision. (3) We propose a hybrid approach to build a plan corresponding to a context-aware service composition, based on global planning and local optimization, considering both the usability and adoption. solution.
- ZeitschriftenartikeliManual(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 47, No. 1, 2005) Klann, Markus; Humberg, Daniel; Wulf, VolkerThis article describes the iManual-concept developed at Fraunhofer FIT which deals with the use of mobile devices as context-aware integrated control and help systems for in principal arbitrary wirelessly connected consumer or industrial products. Following the premise of designing the interface of various IT-based products in a way that facilitates learning and respects user expectations, we explore the design space that is created by combining control and help functions by way of mobile devices. On the way, we discuss various potentials of this approach to enhance the corresponding products and services. Based on a review of the state of the art on intelligent help systems and mobile interfaces we describe the iManual concept and a prototypical implementation for a PDA-based control and help system for the navigation system of the BMW 7. We conclude with a discussion of limitations and opportunities for extension of the approach and corresponding further work.
AbstractRealistic requirements of mobile business applications often exceed the capabilities of their respective local environments. In order to overcome such restrictions of specific mobile devices, services, and resources, this contribution introduces the concept of context-based cooperation. It is based on mobile processes which enable applications to cross boundaries of individual systems and thereby allow combining both mobile and stationary resources in order to realize highly dynamic individual applications. This contribution presents an approach for realizing context-based cooperation built upon on a respective context management infrastructure and execution environment. It also identifies specific requirements and proposes related enhancements for mobile business applications.
