- ZeitschriftenartikelIntelligente Tourenplanung mit DynaRoute(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 47, No. 2, 2005) Wendt, Oliver; Stockheim, Tim; Weiss, KilianDue to increasing transportation costs and a rising demand for quality services professional optimization and planning of transport processes becomes a critical success factor for many companies. This article provides a detailed description of the software DynaRoute, capable to reduce transportation costs and at the same time increase customer satisfaction. The main results are: ▪Effective planning software enables companies to reduce transport costs by 10% and more while significantly improving service quality for the customer.▪A successful implementation of the software often requires organizational changes in the affected business processes.▪DynaRoute provides companies with the flexibility to take individual planning criteria into account.▪Advanced learning models allow for highly improved travel time predictions and this way increase the timeliness of deliveries.
- ZeitschriftenartikelSparse Coding and Selected Applications(KI - Künstliche Intelligenz: Vol. 26, No. 4, 2012) Hocke, Jens; Labusch, Kai; Barth, Erhardt; Martinetz, ThomasSparse coding has become a widely used framework in signal processing and pattern recognition. After a motivation of the principle of sparse coding we show the relation to Vector Quantization and Neural Gas and describe how this relation can be used to generalize Neural Gas to successfully learn sparse coding dictionaries. We explore applications of sparse coding to image-feature extraction, image reconstruction and deconvolution, and blind source separation.
