- KonferenzbeitragBreaking It Down: On the Presentation of Fine-Grained Learning Objects in Virtual Learning Environments(21. Fachtagung Bildungstechnologien (DELFI), 2023) Selmanagić, André; Simbeck, KatharinaCurrent research on personalized learning environments has a strong focus on the individualized sequencing of learning objects and the creation of adaptive feedback within them. Little emphasis has been placed on designing virtual learning environments (VLEs) that retrieve the necessary learning objects from online repositories and utilize semantic metadata to present them dynamically. Thus, this paper presents an approach for transforming a semantic web of fine-grained learning objects into a functional VLE that delivers these objects to learners.
- KonferenzbeitragEnhancing Online Practical Assignments through Chatbot-Based Individualization and Scalability(Mensch und Computer 2024 - Workshopband, 2024) Shahriar, AsifThis research investigates the scalability and individualisation challenges of online practical assignments in online learning modules. Utilising a MOOC prototype in a blended learning framework, the study employs the Action Design Research (ADR) method to enhance online learning. Key interventions include chatbots for task provision and feedback, aiming to offer personalised and scalable solutions. The study will evaluate these interventions' impact on learning outcomes and develop a comprehensive conceptual framework. Findings will provide insights into effective technological solutions, contributing significantly to the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and online education.
- KonferenzbeitragGetch: a Web App for Personalized and Cooperative Learning Path Documentation(21. Fachtagung Bildungstechnologien (DELFI), 2023) Frohn, Julia; Wehrmann, Frank; Bechinie, DominikIn order to reduce the cognitive load of students, the web app getch supports documenting, structuring and presenting individual or joint learning paths using different types of media (recordings, writings, photographs, videos, formulas or files) depending on a learner's individual preferences. In addition, it allows for various forms of cooperative and co-constructive learning. It was designed to help balance the field of tension between personalized and cooperative learning that is constitutive for inclusive as well as digital learning settings. Due to its conceptual openness, getch can be used across subjects and supports participative learning processes.
