- KonferenzbeitragCatalog integration made easy(BTW 2003 – Datenbanksysteme für Business, Technologie und Web, Tagungsband der 10. BTW Konferenz, 2003) Marrón, Pedro José; Lausen, Georg; Weber, MartinIn this paper, we study adaptive evaluation techniques for querying XML-based electronic catalogs, and show, by means of experiments performed on real-world catalogs, that our approach can be used to integrate them with virtually zero effort at start-up time, and a small constant factor needed to perform the adaptive evaluation for all subsequent queries. We reach the conclusion that, from a strictly technical perspective, the classic role of the global catalog can be assumed in an ad-hoc manner by any catalog that forms part of a collaborative federation of XML-based catalogs, and implements our adaptive query algorithms, independently of the storage model used to access its contents.
- ZeitschriftenartikelEinsatzpotenziale von XML in Business-Intelligence-Systemen(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 46, No. 1, 2004) Schwalm, Stephan; Bange, CarstenThis article describes the actual applications of XML in the context of Business- Intelligence-Systems (BI). The potentials and synergies of XML and BI will be emphasized. ▪XML applications can be found within all levels of BI-systems.▪The application of core-standards will be introduced as well as the possibilities of BI specific-standards.▪The discussion of the impact of XML for BI-systems follows along the dimensions: externalisation, integration, standardisation and rationalization.
- TextdokumentEvolving the DSS-X standard(Open Identity Summit 2019, 2019) Kühne, AndreasThis document describes the adoption of an existing specification (for signature creation and validation) to new challenges both in signature-specific and general technical requirements. The major work item is the need to support multiple interface description syntaxes. This document also discusses an approach of automatic document generation to provide multiple artefacts in a consistent and timely manner. This contribution wants to outline a way to maintain specifications in a changing landscape of requirements.
- ZeitschriftenartikeleXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 44, No. 5, 2002) Nutz, Andreas; Strauß, MarkusThe eXtensible Business Reporting Language, or XBRL, is a royalty-free language based on XML that provides for a standardization of method and content in the exchange of business information. XBRL aims to reduce inefficiencies in data exchange and analysis, coupled with an improved comparability of information. The first taxonomies based on XBRL have: •identified opportunities for significant improvement in the efficiency of data exchange and automated analysis.•shown that comparisons between and the compatibility of information within business reports have not improved due to XBRL.

- TextdokumentHarmonizing Delegation Data Formats(Open Identity Summit 2017, 2017) Wagner, Georg; Omolola, Olamide; More, StefanDelegations are an integral part of daily transactions. A delegation is the process of authorizing one entity to act on behalf of another. For the delegation to work, the claim that an entity is authorized to act on behalf of another entity needs to be verified. Verifying an analog delegation can be done by checking if the name of a user is on a list of authorized persons. In contrast, in electronic transactions the implementation of a delegation and its verification can be a difficult task. A user logging into a system or signing documents with an electronic signature involving a delegation may be required to show this delegation within the signature. This delegation needs to be discovered and verified during the transaction. Many solutions using eXtensible Markup Language (XML) have been proposed to represent delegations; unfortunately, most of these schemes are designed to be used for one specific domain. In this paper, we propose a delegation scheme that fills this gap by providing a general representation for delegation that can be easily extended to different domains.
- ZeitschriftenartikelKonsultative Assistenzsysteme für e-Government(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 47, No. 5, 2005) Thome, Rainer; Schinzer, HeikoConsultative Assistance Systems (CASS) enhance today’s transaction-oriented applications by case-driven, rule-based and interactive components geared towards individual needs of the end-user. ▪CASS supports in the resolution process with rare cases, which are typically complex in nature.▪CASS guides the end-user in finding a solution that covers all legal and economical aspects of each case.▪The example described in this article represents a CASS which supports the complex process of public procurement under the tendering by-laws. The application architecture used in this example can be transferred to many eGovernment scenarios.
- KonferenzbeitragOverdraft agreement processing based on XML and its implementation in bankinformation system(2003) Marin, Igor O.; Orekhov, Sergey V.In this paper we present a brief overview of Bank Information System (BIS) market situation in Ukraine. An architectural approach for BIS is proposed. The approach demonstrates how to build the BIS application for credit department of a bank. The paper presents a first step of such system implementation, namely: subsystem for overdraft agreement processing. The subsystem uses XML to describe agreement statements. XML content is processed using XSLT to implement credit commission servicing.
- KonferenzbeitragA Policy Language for Integrating Heterogeneous Authorization Policies(Grid service engineering and management – the 4th international conference on grid service engineering and management – GSEM 2007, 2007) Zhou, Wie; Meinel, ChristophIn order to manage and enforce multiple heterogeneous authorization policies in distributed authorization environment, we defined the root policy specification language and its corresponding enforcing mechanism. In a root policy, the involved users and resources can be defined in coarse or fine-grained. Each involved authorization policy’s storage, trust management and enforcement can be defined independently. These authorization policies can be enforced in distributed way. Policy schemas, policy subschemas and policy hierarchies can deal with complex authorization scenarios. The context constraint component makes the root policy is a context-aware authorization system. On the other hand multiple root policies can cooperate together to complete more complicated authorization tasks.
