- Conference Program1st Workshop on Avionics Systems and Software Engineering (AVIOSE'19)(Software Engineering and Software Management 2019, 2019) Annighöfer, Björn; Schweiger, Andreas; Reich, MarinaCompanies are struggling with the complexity of digital avionics systems. Millions of man months are required for the development of digital airborne systems. Moreover, the complexity of functions, the number of vehicles, and systems continuously rises. There is a high demand for more efficient methods and tools of systems and software engineering. The AVIOSE workshop establishes a new forum for the exchange for the people working on simplifying, shortening, and maturing the creation of avionics systems.
- ConferencePaper3rd Workshop on Avionics Systems and Software Engineering (AvioSE’21)(Software Engineering 2021, 2021) Annighöfer, Björn; Schweiger, Andreas; Reich, MarinaSoftware development in the aerospace domain is driven by new application potentials, increasing complexity, rising certification effort, and increasing cost pressure. In particular, future applications such as e.g., autonomous air transport, aircrew workload reduction, commercial UAVs, and further enhancement of existing functionality add to the system complexity. At the same time, there are challenges in communication and navigation in airspace, certification for multi-core processors, artificial intelligence as well as security for software, hardware, and connectivity. New software development methodologies and techniques are required for dealing with these challenges.

- ZeitschriftenartikelAnwendung von Metaheuristiken zur Lösung betrieblicher Planungsprobleme(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 45, No. 4, 2003) Fink, Andreas; Voß, StefanApplication of metaheuristics within operations management — Potential and limitations of software reuse Business reality comprises a large variety of well structured problems (e.g. in production and logistics management), for which effective and efficient solution procedures are available from research. This includes metaheuristics such as iterative local search, tabu search and evolutionary algorithms. However, the implementation of these quantitative solution procedures as part of decision support systems usually requires problem-specific adaptations. To simplify this task we developed an application framework in C++, which represents various metaheuristics as reusable software components. These components can be used in arbitrary application domains. The framework clearly simplifies the effective practical application of metaheuristics. Nevertheless, a certain effort may be unavoidable if one aims at high-quality solutions in novel applications.
- KonferenzbeitragCo-Simulation of Hardware and Software in Palladio(Softwaretechnik-Trends Band 43, Heft 1, 2023) Weber, Sebastian; Henss, Jörg; Reussner, RalfTo ensure the fulfilment of quality requirements, for example performance, at design time, the software architect can model the software and simulate it with Palladio. The accuracy of the model depends on the estimation of resource demands, which is difficult and error prone. Therefore, in the later stages of development, values should be evaluated based on available information instead of being estimated. An unavailable component implementation or delayed hardware access should not force the software architect to stick with the estimation, but be compensated otherwise, for example with prototypes or hardware simulation. This paper presents six approaches to adapt the evaluation of hardware resource usage in the Palladio software architecture simulation by incorporating co-simulation techniques to compensate different shortcomings. Possible usage scenarios of the approaches are presented and put in relation to the estimated development effort. We present our initial results of implementing one of the approaches, the integration of a hardware-simulation-based resource demand estimation in Palladio. It can compensate unavailable hardware, despite hardware specifications and software being available. The results show that the parameterization options of the hardware simulation were not sufficient to achieve the desired accuracy and the simulation time increases significantly.
- KonferenzbeitragA DSS based on ecological-economic modelling to facilitate the implementation of biodiversity offsets and agri-environment schemes in grasslands(42. GIL-Jahrestagung, Künstliche Intelligenz in der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft, 2022) Sturm, Astrid; Waetzold, Frank; Westphal, Luise; Querhammer, LisaIn Europe, the decline of biodiversity is primarily a result of agricultural intensification. Especially grasslands show an increasingly poor conservation status whereas – if appropriately managed – extensive grasslands belong to the species-richest habitats in Europe. We present DSS-Ecopay AllerGruen®, a further development of the previous versions of DSS-Ecopay®. DSS-Ecopay AllerGruen® is based on a spatiotemporally explicit ecological-economic modelling procedure to assess the ecological effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of grassland measures on species and habitats. It is designed for small-scale regional applications as a tool to support the planning of grassland measures but also to be used in consultations with stakeholders by a local conservation foundation and the local nature conservation authorities. The software can be utilized to analyze the cost-effectiveness and ecological effectiveness of over 2000 grassland measures on target species and habitats for designing biodiversity offsets and agri-environment schemes.

- KonferenzbeitragIrrigation and Nitrogen Management for Sustainable Potato Production under Climate Change Scenario: A Simulation Study(39. GIL-Jahrestagung, Digitalisierung für landwirtschaftliche Betriebe in kleinstrukturierten Regionen - ein Widerspruch in sich?, 2019) Jaitawat, Ritu Raj; Swain, Dillip Kumar; Bernhardt, HeinzPotato growth and development is largely influenced by water and nutrient availability, light and temperature making it highly vulnerable to anticipated climate change. This study is undertaken to simulate the impact of climate change on potato production and to evaluate the various agro-adaptation strategies such as irrigation and fertilizer management. SUBSTOR- potato model was used to simulate the growth and development of potato crop. This study was carried out for Kharagpur conditions in India. Simulation results indicate that 140 kg N/ha applied in 3 split doses gives the highest sustainable yield for both automatic drip and conventional furrow irrigation schemes. Automatic drip irrigation gave 44 % higher yield than conventional furrow irrigation. The study has revealed yield reduction up to 27.81 % and 40.7 % for conventional furrow and automatic drip irrigation respectively in future climate scenario.
- KonferenzbeitragISOBUS simulator for small and medium-scale manufacturers and farmers(40. GIL-Jahrestagung, Digitalisierung für Mensch, Umwelt und Tier, 2020) Favier, Marc; Le Chevanton, Yann; Marchal, Amélien; Michael, Vyndell; Xie, Yaxu; Zhao, Runmao; Seewig, JörgAmong large-scale farmers and agricultural machinery manufacturers, ISOBUS is a universally accepted standard for controlling implements since it simplifies the implementation of precision farming on farms and agricultural machines. However, for small and medium-scale companies, being a farmer or an agricultural machinery manufacturer, the implementation of ISOBUS is often seen as a time-consuming and expensive challenge. For this reason, the authors built a modular simulation-based demonstrator to showcase such small and medium-scale companies the simplicity of integrating ISOBUS in farming systems and the efficiency of this technology to conduct smart farming. The present paper describes the mechanism by which the real ISOBUS terminal can control virtual agricultural machines modelized in a physics engine.
