Zusammenfassung
Input modalities in general as well as in cars are evolving very fast (regarding) in terms of their spread and reliability. One possible input technique would be gaze interaction, a topic still being researched/ that is yet to be researched. There are currently no data available as regards the opinion of front seat passengers as potential users. What are the front seat passengers’ feelings towards gaze interaction, are they comfortable using it and do they think it is necessary? In order to provide a first insight into this subject matter, a laboratory experiment was conducted with 13 student participants, using a driving simulator. Qualitative data was collected during and after the experiment through a semi-structured interview while quantitative data was collected through questionnaires (ATI, CTAM, SUS). Since the system was mocked up and not implemented and the group of participants wasn’t heterogenous enough, the results of the study, which are slightly positive, only are a hint towards the actual answer.
