Zusammenfassung

Modelling the user’s evaluation process is an important task in user adaptive systems. In an idealization, Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) can be used to represent that process. In this paper we describe the law of diminishing marginal utility and present a possible representation of that law in the MAUT context. In the following, we analyse the influence of the use of different value functions in three illustrative scenarios. Furthermore, we discuss the important role of modelling the user’s evaluation process with respect to the dimension economy.
