Zusammenfassung
INTELCITIES is an Integrated RTD Project (with funding through IST-FP6 from the European Union and the Swiss Federal Office for Education and Science) joining 18 cities, 20 ICT companies and 36 research groups in order to pool advanced knowledge and experience of electronic government, sustainable development, planning systems and citizen participation from across Europe. The benchmarking work package (WP) aims to develop a benchmarking software system capable to process and compare quantitative indicators as knowledge basis inside a pilot cities network. Indicators concerning information & communication technologies (ICT) related to sustainable urban development at local administration level, for evaluating ICT implementation, internal management and external coordination in city councils, and ‘state of the art’ paradigms, are included.
