Zusammenfassung
Starting at the frequently changing requirements the process of concepts and of the development of a standard software system is shown using the example of a municipal environmental information system over the last ten years. The way in which the environmental information system has developed from purely carrying out environmental protection-related tasks to a solution that enables access to the environmental information in the various specialist departments as well as for the public is demonstrated. The most important system components as well as the additional extension steps and trends for the coming years are introduced in the article. It will also be explained how the users from the various states that make up the Federal Republic of Germany are involved in conceptual cooperation in order to ensure acceptance of the applications.
