dc.description.abstract | In this article we present the software prototypes HIPPOLYTOS and KOIOS that are both following different approaches to support better search for structured data in environmental information systems which are implemented on top of disy‘s Cadenza middleware for spatial data warehousing and spatial reporting. While HIPPOLYTOS exploits explicit metadata, semantic annotations and ontological background knowledge for making structured data easier findable, KOIOS realizes a schema-agnostic search approach together with a faceted-search GUI.
