dc.description.abstractWith increasing damage caused by natural disasters like extreme weather events in the last decade, the implementation of effective Early Warning Systems (EWS) has become an important topic. In this paper the meteorological early warning system WIND is presented, that uses mobile communication channels to integrate private stakeholders. The underlying concepts, methodology and architecture of the meteorological EWS WIND are presented and discussed as well as its extensions necessary for use of mobile devices (smartphones) of end customers.de
