dc.description.abstract | A development of an environmental management system for inland water, based on intelligent agent technology is outlined. The research is performed within the shared cost action project EDEN-IW, sponsored by DG INFSO. The application of intelligent agents in decision support systems is novel, and the overall functionalities of a DSS agent is presented after an overview of more traditional DSS systems. Due to the distributed and instantaneous (on-line) characteristics of agents, the development opens up for more dynamic features than normally found in traditional decision support systems. | de |
