dc.description.abstract | According to world statistics, almost half the population of the planet is dependent on agriculture for sustenance. Of these approximately 95 % are inhabitants of the third world countries, such as Pakistan, the majority of which operate as households belonging to village communities. This case study will examine the new paradigm of environmental management at the village community level, in the context of sustainable development. It will take a look at the natural resource based community development initiatives at the village level in Pakistan and how these initiatives have changed the outlook of the communities. The case study will also examine the evolution of the phenomena of partnerships between a community based regional development organizations and village organizations that respond to the needs of the village communities. | de |
