This paper deals with the new method of solving the problem of data set allocation optimization problem in the distributed database systems. The method is based on the combined use of object model of the distributed database and modified genetic algorithm. The criterion for optimum is defined by the minimum total average time required to process queries and disseminate updates. The experimental research of the developed method has proved that the productivity of the information system can be increased by 30\% due to optimization of the dataset allocation without the need for additional expenses on hardware modernization.en
