The underlying assumption of this contribution is that environmental protection and sustainability are already integral parts of our societal mind-set. This would have an impact on the day-to-day operations within companies. We call the resulting evolutionary transformation process integration : the integration of material flow management as a concretion of sustainability into industrial processes (e.g. in automotive industry). The aim of this contribution is to discuss process integration as a concept to establish new non-sustainable routine within the industry. Therefore it is necessary to combine such a process model by metaphors, which stand for the new action orientations: in addition to material flow management in particular resource and energy efficiency.de
