At present, more and more IT organisations adopt new architectural practices to effectively deal with the increasingly heterogeneous landscape of their IT architectures. The efficient and integrated management of the various architecture artefacts and their interdependencies - described in architecture models - is a crucial success factor for these initiatives. This paper presents an approach for en- suring architecture artefacts (as the main work products of enterprise architecture management) are under appropriate control. Due to the emerging complexity of IT architectures, the huge amount of crucial information as well as the requirement to ensure conformity to regulations such as SOX and Basel II, the authors view this as a field in need of an approach in order to control and manage this complexity.en
