To achieve this, ORISS helps people to form carpools by providing information about other persons that can take part in the same carpool and by initiating communication between them. Carpools in commuter traffic are modeled very detailed so that ORISS can assign persons to carpools. The system architecture contains components like a Web server, a GIS application server and an assignment algorithm. There are several critical factors in that architecture which have to be treated carefully. ORISS solves these problems so that it can be used in future e.g. at the University of Oldenburg.Carpooling in Commuter Traffic Aided by an Internet Communication PlatformText/Conference Paper
