The whole area includes about 35.000 hectares. Out of these 20.000 hectares are nature protection areas. The Peene is one of the last unspoilt rivers in Germany and one of the biggest linked fens in Europe. It is held as very precious and from all river valley fens as best preserved. In this context the research project investigates how to arrange demands of nature protection with the needs of surrounding intensive agricultural production. For the reduction of risk potentials practical solutions will be developed by means of GIS. To ensure an efficient allocation of financial resources this method should make a preselection of areas by relative low effort based on available data. Therefore the risk potential is deduced from criteria like: risk by erosion, discharge of nutrient and pesticide (from agricultural land), as well as the value and sensibility of habitats and the potential of habitat development (from nature protection areas).deEntwicklung eines GIS-gestützten Informations- und Beratungssystems zur Verringerung von Risikopotenzialen aufgrund landwirtschaftlicher Nutzung für den Naturschutz im Peenetal (Posterbeitrag)Text/Conference Paper1617-5468
