The focus is on barriers that researchers face(d) when it comes to increased participation, two of which are discussed in more detail: project set-up and bias. Then, example strategies from our project are described which can help stimulate researchers to increase participation. The four activities that are discussed are: collaborative reflection, sharing lessons learned, define risk mitigation actions together and drawing attention to project champions. These are small elements in the larger puzzle of participation.Stimulating researchers to more actively involve stakeholders in their projectText/Workshop Paper10.18420/muc2023-mci-ws02-434
