So-called quality elements (QE) were proposed by WFD to estimate the water body status. Suitable assessment software computes water body status using measurement data concerning quality elements. The main task of the presented assessment database consists in integrating all results of the different assessment tools within one central database so that assessment data are broadly available to be used in further evaluations. The assessment database application was implemented as an intranet web application, thus taking no special requirements on the client side. Assessment results are managed in a uniform way and combined on the level of each water body to present a status value for the water body, which is reported to the European Union (EU) according to WFD demands.Assessment Database Supporting Implementation of Water Framework Directive in Schleswig-HolsteinText/Conference Paper
