First, the consequences of the emergence of digital technology on industrialized societies are discussed. This leads to acknowledging the importance of human practices in shaping the impact of ICT. Finally, the way in which ICT intersects with the governance of industrial ecologies is explored. These reflections aim to contextualize the discussion on the potential contribution of ICT to intensified material and energy exchanges between firms.Text/Conference Paper
