In the near future, UMTS will offer a variety of services to users. Some of these services, e.g. real-time services, require a certain guaranteed quality of service. Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a technology providing means to control data flows in IP networks. MPLS has been developed with respect to wired networks.
