In some sense they shape our life. No one can really predict how the near and farther future will look like - but nonetheless current research activities will play a role. Computerized systems, Digital information and Computer Science Technologies will be the main driving forces in the coming decades. The latter part is based in large part on past research achievements. In the lecture we will outline some of outreaching research directions, some specific ERC projects, and describe the potential impact. There will be also some description of ERC’s research programs.
