The attribution of copyright has become an important aspect of creative work production. However, there has been little research regarding identifying and using the licence information. This paper presents a qualitative case study that explored the technological and social challenges of developing an end-user tool that embeds licence information metadata in digital work. The study also sought suggestions from experts and end users to address the challenges. The case study investigated the area through qualitative interviewing. The observations of challenges and suggested solutions may serve as a basis for design work. In addition, a preliminary prototype of the end-user tool has been developed in order to validate the suggestions.enExploring challenges in embedding metadata of licences and attribution in digital workText/Conference Paper1617-5468
