With advancements in devices like Microsoft's HoloLens 2, Extended Reality simulations may replicate real-world experiences closely enough to transform industrial and research workflows. This transformation could reduce costs and the need for physical experimental setups. The paper discusses the critical factors towards achieving this ideal. We therefore discuss convincing simulations, the importance of evaluating user responses, and our own current efforts within in that regard.
