    Groupware- und Workflowaspekte zur ganzheitlichen Unterstützung der öffentlichen Vergabe von Softwareentwicklungsprojekten

    Öffentliche Organisationen dürfen im Gegensatz zu privaten ihren Beschaffungsprozess nicht beliebig gestalten. Im Sinne der Gleichbehandlung aller Bieter und des Verbots der Diskriminierung sind sie rechtlichen Vorschriften unterworfen, die einen meist umfangreichen Beschaffungsprozess mit sich bringen. Dieser Beschaffungsprozess wird dann noch um ein Vielfaches komplexer, wenn es sich bei dem zu beschaffenden Leistungsgegenstand um Softwareentwicklungsleistungen handelt, deren exakte Beschreibung meist sehr umfangreich und schwierig, manchmal nahezu unmöglich ist. Traditionelle Beschaffungsportale sind zum Großteil leistungsgegenstandsunabhängig. Am FAW wurde im Rahmen der Arbeiten an einem konzeptionellen Vorgehensmodell zur Effektivitätsund Effizienzsteigerung bei der öffentlichen Beschaffung von Softwareentwicklungsleistungen ein Prototyp entwickelt, der die traditionellen Funktionalitäten eines Vergabeportals um solche erweitert, die für Softwareentwicklungsprojekte typisch sind. In diesem Artikel wird gezeigt, dass sowohl Groupwareals auch Workflowaspekte einen wesentlichen Beitrag für eine ganzheitliche Unterstützung des Vergabeprozesses von Softwareentwicklungsleistungen liefern. Die wesentlichen Interessensgruppen auf Auftraggeberund auf Bieterseite werden dadurch integriert.

    eSarine - A struts-based webshop for small and medium-sized enterprises

    Electronic commerce becomes an important competitive advantage for small and medium-sized enterprises. Those enterprises therefore need a tool to easily exhibit and sell their products on the Internet. Electronic shops are the best solution to be accessible online but can be quite expensive. This paper presents eSarine, a Struts-based open source webshop, which is especially designed for small and medium-sized enterprises. eSarine features a number of advantages, among them a platform and database independency, a full internationalization support, the ability of handling several designs and a complete extensibility.

    On the modeling of correct service flows with BPEL4WS

    Frameworks for composing Web Services offer a promising approach for realizing enterprise-wide and cross-organizational business applications. With BPEL4WS a powerful composition language exists. BPEL implementations allow orchestrating complex, stateful interactions among Web Services in a processoriented way. One important task in this context is to ensure that respective flow specifications can be correctly processed, i.e., there will be no bad surprises (e.g., deadlocks, invocation of service operations with missing input data) at runtime. In this paper we subdivide BPEL schemes into different classes and discuss to which extent instances of these classes can be analyzed for the absence of control flow errors and inconsistencies. Altogether our work shall contribute to a more systematic evolution of the BPEL standard instead of overloading it with too many features.

    The use of ICT and the joint activity of the enterprises acting in partnership

    The aim of this paper is the evaluation of the effects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) used by enterprises on the partnership. In order to realize this objective, an analysis has been undertaken by using data collected in 2003 in 2000 enterprises installed in Luxembourg, enterprises which cover almost all economic branches. The results show that different kinds of ICT have not the same effect on the probability to work in partnership relative to not working in partnership. Only some ICT have a positive effect on collaborative work.

    Reorganisation einer öffentlichen Verwaltung in Luxemburg – Ein Erfahrungsbericht

    E-Government-Projekte konzentrieren sich häufig auf den elektronischen Distributionskanal öffentlicher Dienstleistungen. Im hier vorgestellten Projekt der Reorganisation der Luxemburger Handelsregister im Hinblick auf eine One-Stop-Administration für Unternehmen stand die Backoffice- Reorganisation im Mittelpunkt. Vorgestellt werden Ausgangslage, Herausforderungen und umgesetzte Lösungsstrategien in einem modellhaften Umfeld.

    Kommunikationssicherheit ist eine wesentliche Anforderung für die Erbringung von E-Government-Dienstleistungen. Kryptographische Technologien nehmen dabei eine Schlüsselrolle ein. Die Virtuelle Poststelle bietet diese Verfahren in serverbasierter Form einheitlich für alle Kommunikationskanäle an. Durch den modularen Aufbau erleichtert diese Basiskomponente die Integration von Fachund Kommunikationsanwendungen. Die Nutzer werden von rein kryptographischen Aufgaben entlastet. Besonderer Schwerpunkt die Unterstützung des Transportprotokolls OSCI-Transport.

    Discovering workflow patterns from timed logs

    Traditionally, workflow modeling is typically done by interviews or questionnaires which stay quite limited for the acquisition of workflow models and their adaptation to changing requirements. In order to build such model, this paper proposes to “reverse the process”. The approach, we propose, is able to acquire workflow model from workflow log, which contains information about execution events. This paper presents a mining technique to discover workflows patterns (e.g. Sequence, Parallel split, Exclusive choice, etc.) from workflow event log in the objective to build a global workflow model. An event log is a view of a workflow execution at a given instant. The mining of workflow patterns is done by the combination of two complementary techniques: an algorithmic technique and a statistical analysis. The building of the global workflow model is done with bottom-up approach. The discovering technique proposed can deal with some ambiguities where the single use of an algorithmic technique method cannot resolve.

    A generic multi-agent architecture for the virtual enterprise

    This paper presents a generic architecture for the development of a virtual enterprise (VE). This architecture, which is based on the notion of agent, includes all the concepts necessary to ensure all the phases of virtual enterprise life-cycle. Thus, we propose several types of agent, namely, the enterprise agent representing an individual enterprise, the broker agent, which is the initiator of the VE (creation phase), the VE manager (operation and dissolution phases) and the electronic market manager agent. The co-ordination and communication mechanisms recommended in the agent-based approach are also specified. The basic idea is to use the concepts of multi-agent systems (MAS) to perform the different activities of the virtual enterprise life-cycle, and thus, to adapt the solutions provided by the MAS paradigm to solve the different problems encountered while establishing a virtual enterprise.
