    FAIR is not enough -- A Metrics Framework to ensure Data Quality through Data Preparation

    Data-driven systems and machine learning-based decisions are becoming increasingly important and are having an impact on our everyday lives. The prerequisite for this is good data quality, which must be ensured by preprocessing the data. For domain experts, however, the following difficulties arise: On the one hand, they have to choose from a multitude of different tools and algorithms. On the other hand, there is no uniform evaluation method for data quality. For this reason, we present the design of a framework of metrics that allows for a flexible evaluation of data quality and data preparation results.

    Quantum versus Classical Computation: Automatic Decision-Making Approaches

    The limitations of today’s quantum hardware require the development of hybrid applications in which parts of the calculations are to be carried out on quantum computers. The decision of whether outsourcing particular calculations actually offers an advantage and is worthwhile is not a trivial one. Decisions are problem-specific and are made manually these days. In this work-in-progress paper, we briefly outline some decision-making approaches and describe the idea of a rule-based approach in more detail. These approaches could form the basis for the implementation of a decision service that is integrated into a hybrid software architecture.
