- KonferenzbeitragA conceptual information model for service management dimensions(Business process, services – computing and intelligent service management, 2009) Belter, Roman; Kluge, Rolf; Hering, Thomas; Müller, HolgerService-oriented Computing (SOC) is known as the leading paradigm for the creation of agile and flexible enterprise IT infrastructures. The implementation of enterprise-wide Service-oriented Architectures (SOA) is a complex task. In most cases, more evolutionary approaches are used to deal with the arising complexity. However most of the design methodologies and implementation strategies focus on more technical, service realization specific aspects. Challenges regarding the definition and the management of related service artifacts throughout the whole service lifecycle are neglected. Also the implementation of a lifecycle-encompassing information management infrastructure is not addressed adequately in research and industry. In this paper we introduce different stakeholder roles and their information requirements as well as their influence on services within the lifecycle. Furthermore, this paper proposes a common service management information model (coSIM) that builds a foundation for the management of services and service infrastructures during design-, run- , and change-time.
- KonferenzbeitragData Analytics as a Service – Challenges and Opportunities: An Introduction to DAS-24(INFORMATIK 2024, 2024) Keller, Barbara; Möhring, Michael; Augenstein, FriedrichData Analytics is an important topic in current and future services. Different opportunities and challenges occur when implementing it. The paper describes some core aspects of Data Analytics Services as well as concrete application domains. Furthermore, an overview of the workshop and specifics of Analytic Services as well as future research streams are provided.
- ZeitschriftenartikelData-Warehouse als Applikationsbasis? — Zur Kosten- und Leistungsrechnung (nicht nur) im Gesundheits- und Sozialwesen(Wirtschaftsinformatik: Vol. 46, No. 1, 2004) Hofschröer, Peter; Romberg, TimUsing the hospital as an example for service sectors with a heterogeneous application landscape, we put forward the hypothesis that it is not feasible to implement cost accounting applications inside operative systems such as ERP, as it is assumed by the conventional data warehousing approach. Rather, the data warehouse, with its extraction, validation and transformation tools, delivers the right platform, creating an application layer which acts on the data before it is being loaded into multidimensional cubes. The cost accounting application enriches the data in the data warehouse by imputing costs and profits to the various calculatory objects such as ledgers, cost centres and cost objects (products). Our hypothesis is further validated by the fact that typical data warehousing tools, e.g. tree structures, are ideal for defining the often complicated calculation metadata.
