dc.description.abstract | Our Multiscale Spatial Analysis Tool aims to map a quantitative variable for different scales on a single map. First, our tool performs a spatial smoothing for each scale and then extracts hot spots which are located in the center of high smoothed value areas. Next, it builds a hierarchy of hot spots which come from the different scales. The result map combines an easy reading thanks to the hierarchy with a good quality thanks to the spatial smoothing. We will see a practical application to the analysis of the French population for local, regional and national scales.Abstract Our Multiscale Spatial Analysis Tool aims to map a quantitative variable for different scales on a single map.
