Analyzing data with business intelligence systems (BI systems) by means of visual analytics is increasingly the focus of companies. These systems are very powerful regarding the interaction between user and data. Data can be processed as charts or tables, which are then combined into dashboards or cockpits. However, a weakness of BI systems is an analysis of data with focus to its localization. Even if standard BI systems support geo-visualization of data it can only be used for rather simple analysis. For this reason, we have explored the market to find a BI system that can be extended with additional components to have an advanced geo-visualization. This article describes the searching for a BI system and the extending of a BI system with geo-visualization.de
