- KonferenzbeitragSuchmaschinen-getriebene Umweltportale – Nutzung einer ElasticSearch-Suchmaschine(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Schlachter, Thorsten; Düpmeier, Clemens; Schmitt, Christian; Schillinger, WolfgangIn order to merge data from different information systems in web portals, querying of this data has to be simple and with good performance. If no direct, high-performance query services are available, data access can be provided (and often accelerated) using external search indexes, which is well-proven for unstructured data by means of classical full text search engines. This article describes how structured data can be provided through search engines, too, and how this data then can be re-used by other applications, e.g., mobile apps or business applications, incidentally reducing their complexity and the number of required interfaces. Users of environmental portals and applications can benefit from an integrated view on unstructured as well as on structured data.
- KonferenzbeitragCloud Computing für die Kalibrierung von Hochwassersimulationen(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Brettschneider, Marco; Pfützner, Bernd; Fuchs-Kittowski, FrankWell calibrated rainfall runoff models of sufficient complexity are a necessary basis for accurate flood water simulations in order to prevent losses. Using the hydrologic modeling system ArcEGMO in a small catchment as an example, IaaS cloud computing has be proven fast and cost-efficient for short-term usage. On the other hand, IaaS cloud instances cannot replace local computers, since long-term usage is still expensive and the performance of the offered architectures can slow down a calibration process on the long run. Ultimately, cloud computing has the potential to be a useful extension of local computer capacities if state of the art computer hardware with a fair pricing is offered by IaaS providers.
- KonferenzbeitragAus Klein mach Groß: Komposition von OGC Web Services mit dem RichWPS ModelBuilder(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Bensmann, Felix; Roosmann, Rainer; Kohlus, JörnDistributed geospatial data and services can be used to form Spatial Data Infra-structures (SDI). Current technological developments enable SDI to process large amounts of geospatial data. In this context, Web Processing Services (WPS) can be used as an open interface standard for accessing and executing geospatial processes. Since many SDI are based on Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), the orchestration of services is enabled by composing existing services. The results are higher services, e.g. complex geospatial applications. The RichWPS research project focuses on analysing and providing practical approaches of web service orchestration. For this, software components are developed to build a modular orchestration environment. The main client-side application is the ModelBuilder.
- KonferenzbeitragAus Groß mach Klein: Verarbeitung orchestrierter OGC Web Services mit RichWPS Server- und Client-Komponenten(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Wössner, Roman; Abecker, Andreas; Bensmann, Felix; Alcacer-Labrador, Dorian; Roosmann, RainerRichWPS is a project aiming at more powerful and more user-friendly support for using the OGC Web Processing Services standard (WPS) for distributed geodata processing in the Web. While we have already discussed in other publications the RichWPS ModelBuilder for geoprocessing-workflow composition as well as the RichWPS approach to geoprocessing-workflow orchestration, this paper sketches the RichWPS Server software as well as some client-side developments facilitating the effective usage of WPS processes.
- KonferenzbeitragErfahrungen mit MongoDB bei der Verwaltung meteorologischer Massendaten(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Lutz, RichardThe remote sensing of atmospheric trace gases investigates dynamic, microphysical and chemical processes in the Earth?s atmosphere, with the goal to understand, quantify and predict its natural variability and long-term changes. Accurate measurements of atmospheric trace gases from various observational platforms (ground-based stations, air craft, balloons, satellites) provide the data that are required for the modelling of atmospheric processes. The instrument GLORIA (Gimballed Limb Observer for Radiance Imaging of the Atmosphere), developed by KIT/IMK and FZ Jülich, an Infrared Spectrometer, which measures atmospheric emissions, was engaged in several measurement campaigns on board of HALO (High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft) and provided a large amount of data, which has to be managed efficiently for processing and visualisation. This paper describes the system background and the use of MongoDB for the provision of measured and processed mass data.
- KonferenzbeitragNeue Technologien in der Forstwirtschaft am Beispiel der Apps WaldFliege und WaldKarte(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Müller, ChristineAlthough forestry may seem to be a rather traditional branch with little interest in new technologies the use of android apps offers significant advantages in forestry and management of natural resources. The need of foresters, forest workers and logistic companies to collect and store data in the forest is met by android devices. The android apps ‘WaldFliege’ and ‘Forest(M)ap(p)’ offer a solution for optimizing timber logistic. With WaldFliege people working in the forest can collect timber data and combine it with GPS data, photos and data of forest owners. Forest(M)ap(p) shows the position of the stacks of timber in an offline map. Places can be marked by means of the GPS but also by simply tapping on the map if no satellite signal is available. Inforst also offers measuring with UAVs in forestry. This can simplify the planning of timber harvesting or the management of forest damages. The transfer of data from the multicopter directly to the offline map in the app is in project.
- KonferenzbeitragSmart City auf Basis von 3D(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Rudolf, Heino3D building models are currently available or in production for many urban arias. So we have the requirement to use this data for practical solutions. M.O.S.S: developed a platform to generate and manage 3D city models. This platform offers opportunities for practical uses of the data in thematic applications. In cooperation with specialist partners applications are integrated in the platform and the city model is enriched with the results. M.O.S.S: developed a platform to generate and manage 3D city models. This platform offers opportunities for practical uses of the data in thematic applications. In cooperation with specialist partners applications are integrated in the platform and the city model is enriched with the results. It is shown that the usage of 3D building models leads to a new quality in the thematic questions, e.g. the calculation of solar radiation and clouding, simulation of environ-mental phenomenon like noise, air pollutions or flood and the calculation of heat demand in buildings.
- KonferenzbeitragFlexible Darstellung von geobezogenen Daten in Webseiten über ein ereignis-orientiertes Karten-Widget(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Düpmeier, Jan; Düpmeier, Clemens; Schlachter, Thorsten; Schillinger, WolfgangBasing on the Google Maps API a web widget was developed in order to generate various digital maps combining different map layers. This web widget can be integrated within the web portal framework LUPO presenting spatial search results on maps complementing the list of fulltext search results.
- KonferenzbeitragMobiles Crowdsourcing von Pegeldaten(Umweltinformationssysteme. Big Data – Open Data – Data Variety, 2015) Fuchs-Kittowski, Frank; Pfützner, Bernd; Preuß, Tobias; Fischer, Fabian; Beck, Tilman; Bartusch, SarahWith increasing damage caused by natural disasters like flood events in the last decade, the implementation of effective flood management systems has become an important topic. In this paper the hydrological mobile crowd sourcing system KoPmAn is presented, that uses mobile crowdsourcing to integrate water level data collected by the public in a flood management system. The underlying concepts, the architecture, and the implementation of KoPmAn are presented.
